FP Progress

Hi all! it’s time to share about my graduation project progress :D

T-GIS <Tourist Guide GIS> (application for my final project) is GIS application for guiding tourist. In my plan, this program will be made as a prototype. Since my FP document hasn’t been approved by my lecturer, why not if i keep developing this prototype ^_^. This program is implemented using Mapserver and J2ME.

As you see, my idea is very simple. In fact, i found a similar topic from google that made me temporary shock and tried hard to find another special uniqueness for my topic. But kak Ronald (the one who made those similar topic) with his kindness would like to share his FP document that i couldn’t find in his faculty library because he just finished his project two days before i searched it. And from that document, i can get my way back, because i knew that we have a different focus in our topics :D.

My topic is simple but i’m very interested to it, i hope i can make it done with happines. My lecturer guiding me not to focus on application but on concept, because application is just for implementing the concept that we have made, as he said. And i found that making concept is more difficult than implementing the concept. But with his guide, now i’m able to open my deepest eyes ^_^ (Umm, sorry for my bad grammar.. ^_^).

Here are the screenshot from T-GIS prototype that i have made. This time i haven’t made another tutorials about mapserver, but i hope i can write it next time for newbi GIS-sers like me :)

  1. I see that your getting the map from another major @ ITB right ?

Is there any complete map of bandung that can be accessed freely ? thx

  2. Well, unfortunately i didn’t get complete map for my project, i just take one of training data that used for GIS course in Comlabs :D. I got it for free, so i didn’t expect the quality for the map that i used :D. But if Ahmy want to get more complete data in indonesia, you can buy it from here: http://bakosurtanal.go.id/?m=4. But i think it will cost you a lot ^_^

  3. Umm, Mbak, your final project is also similar with the idea of my team when I took the Interaction Engineering subject at the previous term… :P (but I didn’t focus on the tourist as the user).

Just curious, whether you have the same topic of the task when taking the subject…

Anyway, good luck with your final project ;)

  4. Hehe, thank you. Yes, i also took this topic in my IF4062’s project, so i don’t need to remake the introduction page in my final project document :-P
