Goodbye Firefox!

Yup, and I said it again it’s the time to say good bye to Firefox for Mac because Apple has officially release Apple Safari Extensions Gallery.

Safari Extensions Gallery

It’s a real contender for Firefox addons since so many addons you’re familiar with already there for Safari such as ScribeFire, WOT service, Adblock, and much more. Although the number of extension available are still far below Firefox addons, it have potensial to grow very fast judging from some addons maker for Firefox already make Safari extension version of it and maybe more of them will join the ride.

One most noticeable strong point of Safari Extensions is it’s unique way to install new extensions from Extensions Gallery, simple and clean. Every extension diplayed in Extensions Galley has a simple “Install Now” button, all you have to do is click the button to install it to Safari. When download and install the extensions, the blue button turn into inline progress bar and finally show Installed text when done.

I already try using some extension and it all works well. Here’s some extension that I recommend so far:

- Adblock
- Type-To-Navigate
- ScribeFire
- Ultimate Status Bar
- Exposer
- Snapper

The only problem I had with Safari Extensions are most of them add a new button on toolbar and there’s no way to use extension function from menu. It makes the toolbar have too much button. Hopefully Apple will fix this in the future.
